Sabaleel Nandy brings with himself a diverse and long career journey and has been associated with DCM Shriram Ltd. since March, 2023.

Prior to this, he was serving as the President and COO of Paradeep Phosphates Ltd (PPL), where he spearheaded the Rs. 1500 Crore Initial Public Offering (IPO) which also involved divestment of Government of India’s residual 20% stake from PPL. A Civil engineer from IIT Kharagpur, Sabaleel joined the TAS (Tata Administrative Services) in 2001 after completing MBA from IIM Lucknow and thereafter spent 18 years with the Tata Group. His roles in Tatas included serving as the Executive Director at “Tata Chemicals North America”, where he was heading the US operations at the soda ash manufacturing facility at Green River, Wyoming and was a member of the Board of the company.

He also served as VP & Head of Manufacturing at Tata’s phosphatic fertilizer plant at Haldia (currently owned by Indo Rama Corporation). He also served as a Director on the Board of Indo Maroc Phosphates Pvt Ltd (IMACID), a joint venture between Tata Chemicals, Chambal Fertilizers and the OCP Group of Morocco. A key milestone in his professional career has been the launch of the Tata Swach brand of household water purifiers where, with some direct patronage from Mr. Ratan Tata, he led the innovation journey and served as its Business Head for 5 years from 2008 to 2013.

Before Tata Chemicals, he served as a part of the Group Executive office at Tata Sons, with responsibilities that included strategic evaluations of new business forays, strategic M&A related projects and projects related to post acquisition integration of companies. Apart from Tata Chemicals & Tata Sons, Sabaleel also spent close to 5 years with Tata Motors.

Sabaleel was featured by the Business Today magazine as one of the 25 “Hottest Young Executives under 40”. Having worked and lived in 5 cities including Mumbai, Kolkata, Salt Lake City (Utah), Bangalore and now Delhi over the past 20 years, Sabaleel believes in inclusivity, tolerance and a cosmopolitan outlook towards work & life.
