Mr. K K Sharma is a 1st rank holder and Gold medalist in Chemical Technology from UDCT [now Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai] with more than 34 years of experience in Agrochemicals and Pharmaceutical companies in manufacturing and EHS (Environment Health and Safety).
He started his career with Gharda Chemicals as Trainee Engineer in manufacturing and worked with Ranbaxy, Jubilant Lifesciences, Syngenta and Uflex. He is also Co-Chairman of the Indian Chemical Council (ICC), North Zone Chapter and is also a member of the CII Climate Change Council 2017-18. He also possesses Diploma in safety from Regional Labor Institute, Kanpur and also NEBOSH IGC in Occupational Health & Safety with distinction. He has also undergone various specialized EHS training in India and overseas receiving certifications on ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, Hazardous wastes, Dangerous goods transportation, Incident investigation and root cause analysis, HSE Auditing, Sustainability reporting etc. He had been actively involved and presented on EHS related topics in various program organized by various Industrial Association such as Punjab Industrial Safety Council, CII, National Safety Council (NSC), PHDCCI, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, ICMA (now ICC), DRDO, HRD foundation, NEERI, IIT Roorkee and various educational institutions etc.
He has also published papers on Solid waste management and other EHS related issues. He is an alumni of Institute of Chemical Technology (earlier UDCT) and had actively served as Executive member of various committees and associations such as The Citizen Environment Improvement Society, Noida; PHDCCI committee on Environment (2011, 2012); CII’s National committee on Environment (2008 & 2009); Environmental Management Sectional Committee – CHD 34, Bureau of Indian Standards, New Delhi (2010), Committee of the NSC (North Zone Chapter) & ICC North Zone Chapter (earlier ICMA) and Mohali Industrial Association etc. He was also a guest faculty for MBA (Pharm.), National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (NIPER), Punjab.
